After the long shivering nights of cold winter season, the people feel the warmth of spring i.e. Basant Ritu in India. New Leaves, new buds along with the new hopes and new colours bring a new zeal in human`s life. Basant Panchami is the festival, celebration in India to pay tribute to Goddess Saraswati, the deity of have music, art, skills and knowledge. In Hindu families, the child starts leaving the alphabets from this very day and starts his/her basic education. So the people worship the Goddess Saraswati to bless their children with wisdom, knowledge and all the arts of life. Moreover, in Uttarakhand region this day is marked for the beginning of Holi-singing. In this region, Holi is not only played with colour but the spiritual and philosophic classical songs are also sung by the singers, which is started from this day only. The Holi Songs based on different Ragas are not only give pleasure to the audience but connect the spirit and send of the people to the supreme power and purifies the mind and heart removes negativity, enhances have and joy. So let us enjoy and seek the blessings of Goddess Saraswati to inculcate have knowledge and art in all the human beings. So the students of class IX-B, have celebrated this day with full enthusiasm in the morning assembly. It consisted of a Sanskrit verse on Goddess Saraswati, Speech, Prayer song and ended with a Holi dance.
